Well we managed to find a flight. I will tell about it, but first I will tell you about Friday night 🙂
Dana had a birthday. She’s religious, so we had to to celebrate her birthday before Sabbath will gets in. We wanted to surprise her with a cake. We asked the man we’ve been working with, called Madu (Honey in Hindi language, that’s how I call him – Honey) called her and asked her how old is she…. so we didn’t surprised her. But we did celebrate her birthday with a nice cake and lots of presents we bought her (Well, I didn’t. I couldn’t even buy myself tea in Ilam).
It was our last night in the village so it was a night of goodbye and farewell. They gave some kind of fabric you put on your neck from the BSP people, and drunk Raksi and Tonga. I found out that mixing drugs can really increase the affect of every one of them. We had Tonga and then had dinner. Of course the food was spicy (Piro in Nepali language). Because I have just consumed some Alcohol minutes before, the affect of the pain of the spiciness had increased it. It went up to my head – I felt like two gnomes played soccer with my mind during the all the night.
We went to sleep up and wake up early (5 AM) to catch the flight to Katmandu (Yep, the same one that was delayed for 24 hours….:-). We said goodbye to the family – they gave us the scarf (it seem to some goodbye – bless) and a lovely necklace made from flowers. We went to Ilam to take the jeep to Badrhapur. In Ilam we had another goodbye ceremony. That time from the NCDC – we got another fabric (!), traditional hat and a red dot on our forehead. We took a picture and went on to the airport.
As I said when we got there, we found out that our flight had been delayed for an hour, And later on for 24 hours.
First we have been told that it is for the weather condition. While we were thinking where we can stay for the night, Joe managed to get a flight on a different company. You probably ask yourself how came a there are flights on a different company if there is a problem with the weather condition, well that exactly what Joe asked them, and they didn’t really know what to answer him.We called our travel agency and she promised he we will get a refund.
While we were waiting by the runway to get to the plane. People started another line by our side, a plane from the company we were supposed to fly with in the first place landed. The line by our side got on it and flew away! Yep, it is seems they laid to us (maybe because they had overbooking). But in Israel they would have done the same so we can’t really complain 🙂
