Borovets, Bulgaria

One of the things we went crazy about when Nathan and I first went out of country was the fact that nobody understands what we were saying and the language we are using.

You invest so much time as a kid in inventing language that nobody (especially the teacher or other kids) understands you.

Suddenly you land in a place and nobody understands you. You might think that horrible (I remember you going crazy you can’t understand anybody). We loved it. We went and started talking to people and that Europeans were so embarrassed when we laughed at them. The real funny part was that they didn’t understand we laughed at them.

“Think how sad it is for the British people, going touring somewhere. Everybody understands them. Too bad for them, we can go anywhere laughing on everybody and they don’t understands us! hahah!”.

And then…

I became a British.

I sit down with my friend in the sauna in the hotel with my friend and some Russians. The Russian were talking between them, and a second before I was about to spit a very bad expression on them to my friend in Hebrew. They said a word in Hebrew. First, I thought I didn’t heard right, but then it happened again – A whole Russian sentence with a word in Hebrew. They are from Israel.

The whole sauna was from Israel, No – The whole hotel, No – the whole bloody sky town (I really became British, even curse like one…).

Well now I knew how it is to feel that everybody understands you, and you don’t understand anybody…. That sucks!

Take care
Gad
