Aneto, Spain
Vladek Spiegelman (from Maus: A Survivor’s Tale) use to say…“Friends? Your friends? If you lock them together in a room with no food for a week…Then you could see what it is, friends! …”
It’s an horrible way to put it, but he’s right.
I spent 4 years in the Technion with those friends, I lived with them in the dorms for over a year, hang out with them, study with them, drove to school and back with them and hiked with them.
but I had never been stucked with them in a car for 9 days. The fact that five of them were trekking days makes it even worse.
A lot of things that I looked at them from one point of view, looks completely different. Things that I thought about those people, sometimes were completely wrong, and in other times half right.
I know that you judge people in stress situation, and it still amazing me and each every new time.
