9th Day of Operation Protective Edge
There was cease fire at 9:00…
SSDD – Hamas firing rockets as far as it can and the IDF is bombing Gaza strip.
The real difference between this operation and the last one (Pillar of defense) is the Iron Dome.

This anti-missile system is a game changer in this conflict. is not completely hermetic, and it cannot stop the short distance Qassam rockets and mortar shells  (anything which its distance fire is less than 4 km). But it defends the main population centers. That, and only that, makes the all operation to a different thing on our side: lowering the pressure on the government and saving life.

The system was presented before the last operation in Gaza strip, and it even managed to intercept a missile lunched over Tel-Aviv. Except that missile it had stopped another 427 missiles and rockers launch over Israel with 84% sucsses. And still there were only 4 operational batteries (the fifth one entered during the operation), covering part of Israel and now there are 9.

The alarms breaking the day routine, sending people to shelters and are in no way allow the life to continue – but till now no catastrophic event had happened in terms of casualties. That kind of event might make our the government sending soldiers as fast as possible into Gaza strip.

Enjoy the pics, I stole them from The Marker =)
