21th Day of Operation Protective Edge
I look on the first soldier in the list of fallen published today – Moshe Davino.
I don’t know him. I never knew any Davino, and no Moshe Davino. But in a second I realize he is like my brother.
He has a grey beret on his head, that means that like me he’s from the Engineering corps. Then I see he’s from Jerusaelm. I am too from Jerusalem, might have seem him sometime in Friday evening drinking in one of the bars.
I look at the picture again but I don’t recognize him.
I do recognize the symbol he has on his chest – battalion 603. The same Engineering corps battalion I was. 10 years after I had slept in those rooms he slept in the same rooms. All the memories from those place are floating up…
I knew him – he’s Moshe Davino,20, from Jerusalem he was killed in combat in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday…..
