26th Day of Operation Protective Edge
It was supposed to be quiet weekend. From Friday morning a 72 hours humanitarian cease fire agreement was agreed by Hamas and us, starting from 8:00.
After a deadly mortar shell fire, that managed to kill 5 Armored Corps soldiers that were on their way out of the Gaza Strip, it was a relief.
But only an hour an half later, Hamas militants killed two soldiers and probably kidnapped a soldier….
This is the enemy we are facing. One that agreements are nothing for him. That the life of Gaza Strip residents are nothing for him.
So what the point of those ceases fire if they are only one sided? Can we make any agreement from now on? Like every Operation in Gaza, is this one also contain the seeds of the next round of fighting? It might end in one side retreat of IDF forces from Gaza strip?
