San Fransisco, California, USA
In Israel we built the streets of cities on hills according to the topography: Most of the streets running in the same height or climbing in a moderate stiff.
The American way of building cities is very simple:
Just a grid of streets =)
Very Simple to design, very simple to navigate, and very straight Forward. It works perfect when the city is flat. But when it has even bit of hills…
Well that’s can make a some mess.
San Fransisco for example – Driving it… That something scary! =)

Driving in San Fransisco at night… Roller Coaster! =)
Lomard street, this part considered one of the stiffest streets in the world (guess they didn’t been to Arab villages in Israel…)
San Fransisco cable car (We took it from Union Square to Lombard street).
Riding the Cable car
Best food of San Fransisco: Clam Chowder in bread bowl, Shrimp nuggets and onion rings on the fisherman wharf.
Pepper Palace – So spicy. They have a challenge – Who dare to take 4 drops of the spiciest sauce on earth. One accept the challenge when we were there… Wouldn’t have done it for any amount of money in the world!
Some of San Fransisco candies shop have to offer: Toffee, Jelly Beans (we almost went to visit the factory =), eatable underwear =P and Camel balls? =)
The Arcade – Video games! haven’t played on stuff like that for years! (They have newer stuff – from the 90’s =)
Pier 39 – It has been renovated and apparently the sea lions liked it =)
Alcatraz – From the city and closer from a ship.
How close the prisoners were to the big city, only listen to its sounds can drive a man crazy! It’s name comes form an old word for Albatross – Alcatraz, for it is the Island of Pelicans.
Golden Gate – What a magnificent piece of engineering.
San Fransisco Downtown. The building aren’t so high here, it might be that it’s not worth to build them – or because of the earthquake hazard. See the triangle building? It’s Transamerica building, the tallest in SF, and it was built especially to withstand earthquakes.
The Bay Bridge – Older than the Golden Gate Bridge, but with shorter spans.
Muir Woods – Those are really big trees!
How can we visit California and not get into one of those Cheescake Factory – Who knew? We might find Penny here =P
