Hi,
We set drain pipe to cistern – another step to our own =) (in the matter of fact it is my parents cistern).

After Aba retired form his work in the Ministry of Education, he helps me a lot.

He managed to break the last piece of rock that we had to break. Most of the rock in the hole was cracked and I could break it with a the small jackhammer we have. But that last piece of rock was hard. Aba managed to break it down with a 5 kg hammer =)

We started casting the east wall of the cistern, to support the wall above it (that is the wall between us and the neighbors).

Apart from it, we set a drain pipe, to set the water that go down from the roof to go the cistern.

What next? First we want to finish casting the wall, then we will start casting the rest of the walls.

The drain pipe from the other side of the yard. The water from the roof on the other side of the yard, and we decided on a that using a close pipe is better than an open tunnel. The second picture is after we buried it.

Reinforcement bars inserted into the rock to hold it and connect the rock and the concrete.

The rebar of the wall (8mm diameter rebar). The wall doesn’t need a rebar to take tension forces, but you don’t cast concrete without rebar. It prevent shrinkage and cracks in the concrete.
