Tze’elim, Israel
Hi,
“… which in a region of the unexpected like War must act a great part, for it is indeed nothing but a great conquest over the unexpected.”
“war is the kingdom of unknown” That’s what they keep telling you in the army.
They forget to tell you that the army is the kingdom of unknown…
When you just drafting to the army you get it pretty fast: things change fast, people lie, people don’t know what they are talking about, etc.
I must say you getting used to it. “It will end some day” you say to yourself.
But when you coming back for reserve, 10 years later, it is pretty hard to get used to it. Last time we were called for reserve, we were told we will have a month of reserve service in half a year.
The government changed and we weren’t called for couple of years…
Now nobody can tell us if and when we are to be called again.
Except the fact that you have job and plans outside the army, you are not 18 years old that do what you are told and that’s it.
On the other hand it depends on so many things – government, the situation with the Palestinians and more global things that happens around us…
I guess that’s why they say the “Army is the kingdom of unknown”…
Take Care
