Hi,
We took the chance it is Passover holiday, got early to Dolev Today and went down to Dolvim stream that run under the settlement (Dolvim stream stream. Because Dolev is a settlement, you cannot just go around it. There is always the risk of a terror attack. In the holidays, because there are a lot of hikers, there is more military forces around.
The name of the stream and of the settlement above it comes from the Hebrew name to the Platanus orientalis trees (Dolev). This is the most South location the grow up in Israel.
We were joined by parts of my family and Atzva family: My aba (who decided to teach the names of all the planets around), my Ima (that just want to see Jannaeus), Atzva sisters and brother in law (that used as our guide) and Atzva mother.
Take care
Gad
In the entrance to the stream – Vines belong to one of the people of Dolev
Part of them had to be removed due to sickness that came from the purified water that was used.
Jannaues carried by one of his grandmothers
The Arab village Jania on the other side of the stream
The stream – Still flow a bit
The trail junction – Left to Talmon settlement, right (over the bridge) to Dolev. We went forward, along the stream
Along the stream there are water pool, flour mill, cliffs and many Dolev trees. There were Palestinians along the stream, and we weren’t sure if we should continue. Atzva mother was tired so we had to go back anyway.
