Hi,
I was called for military reserve: in December, January and February I will spend of the time wearing uniforms.
Till now, the military reserve was kind of a vacation. A kind of a bad vacation – like the one you remembers years after that your suitcase was lost, the car got broken in the middle of nowhere and the weather was horrible. But still a vacation – away from work and everyday problems.
Now, with Jannaeus at home it became heavy. In the way I think about changing my unit to a one that doesn’t called up so much. The problem is that now, for some reason, everybody called for a reserve….
And not only training, like I had till now (we are not called for wars, so the all thing is more kind of a game than the real thing). I will spend a month serving in the west territories. And only when Atzva asked me what I will be doing there it fell on me – I will be guarding in shifts: In pillbox, in check-post, in the post and everywhere else you can think on. And if there is something I avoided from doing since I have been released is guarding.
More than that – It will be very long time away from Jannaeus. It is hard enough that because of work there are full days I don’t see him (not in the morning and not in the evening). Now I will be away for a whole month! I will also be missing Jannaeus first Hannuka party =/
Bottom line – It isn’t so fun as it used to be..

My nephew come to say hi, when I used to sleep in my parents house.
“Hi uncle Gad! Are you a soldier?!”
I was confused for a second. I was not wearing uniform or carried a rifle.
He grab my factory badge and I realized: He’s other uncle work in a military base. He has a badge and no rifle…. =)
