Hi,
“The shepherd gets to close to the soldier in Susya, go and see what’s going on”. So we went on to Susya on this shinny afternoon. The shepherd was a 50 years old man, his wife and six sheep. On the other hand there were ten teenagers settlers that went to take a deep in the local cistern. And between a soldier that spends most of his days in an office (=”Jobnik”).
The shepherd claim he can go as close as the string around the settlement (used for Eruv). The teenagers claim he cannot get even to the bottom of the hill. That is the source of all the conflict between us and them. Who is right, only God or Allah knows. So we deals with keeping the order – taking the settlers up and pushing him down.
We talks with the IDF civilian representative on the shepherd’s phone , while the settlers calls us “why are talking in his phone, are you in B’Tselem?” (a human right organization).
We calls Susya’s security while the shepherd calls us and says he can go up to the top of the hill.
After half an hour the shepherd goes down (the security person claim he can go up to third the height…. a very general say). And we try to get to the next mission (A bus standing on the way to Avigayil), while the teenagers keeps jumping on our Hummer.
The shepherd on this shinny afternoon
Take care
