Hi,
So what really happened in the embassy riots on Gaza strip that Monday?
Was it a civil non-violence riot or was it an terror attack on the border of Israel?
Well, as always the answer is somewhere in between the question is where in the middle:
The situation in Gaza strip is horrible: One of the most dense populated areas in the world, with low GDP, controlled by a terror organization. sicking revenge than to care the people of Gaza strip. The Palestinians in Gaza strip has little to loss. In that situation, Hamas managed to move tens of thousands to fence, on the day of the Nakba (the Palestinians consider Israel independence war as it disaster) on which US moved is embassy to Jerusalem (meaning it recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel).
But this wasn’t a non-violence riot on the border:
Due to the destruction of the Kerem Shalom Crossing on the Palestinian side, the Minister of Defense, Mr. Avigdor Liberman, approved the recommendation to close the crossing pic.twitter.com/R81Y5QieLv

burning kites flew over the fence to burn Israeli corps, setting fire to the humanitarian goods terminal (that leads gas and fuel to Gaza strip), throwing rocks and sabotaging the border fence, face covered with knives, etc.
The fact that 50 of the 62 Palestinians killed during the riots were Hamas activities prove the riots were led by Hamas in a violent way.
The dead, except, one are all grownup people which got to the point the dangerous the border sometimes under a wall of smoke.
The 8 months baby (What did she was doing near the fence for heaven’s sake?!) that died in those riots, apparently had preexisting medical condition.
I do think that Hamas just could not stand the temptation of getting so close to the fence and keep the embassy riots non-violence. The idea of damage the fence, the corps and even kidnap a soldier made Hamas chose the violent way. The way that would benefit the organization but little the people of Gaza.
Take Care
