Soldier without weapon

Hi,

I am in the military again, yes don’t ask me how that one happened. Apparently about every second person I know was drafted (Including Guri and Nathan – my two brothers). I would say it has something to do with the situation around Gaza strip, but for most of us just their regular training.

Around an hour after I was drafted I realized something isn’t right. At first I didn’t understand what – I was carrying both my private personal bag and the kitbag of military stuff I just got. That thing I was missing didn’t bug me too much until the point I left those bags on the field bed  in the tent and started walking around in the base….

Then it stroke me – I missing carrying around something: a weapon. Apparently those 3 years of walking around with it hanging on your shoulder went deep under my skin. They teach you that your weapon is like your wife – you walk, eat, sleep even take a shower with it!

In one of the fantasies I had about you coming back was picking you up from the airport (were weapon isn’t allowed), during military reserve and telling you my wife is waiting in the car with my  Aba. I kept imagining the look on your face when you hear it, and when you realize It is a weapon 🤣
Take care

Gad

"Lucky" me I had to move the APCs, and had to carry around my helmet. Like a private that lost his hat. Without weapon, at least made me felt like a soldier...
