Our homemade Shalach manos

Shalach manos

Hi,

It is Purim and we decided to invest in our shalach manos. Only to have a very few but all home made – Banana Muffins and fresh squeezed orange juice. All packed in reused paper bags 😃.
This is a Purim holiday mitzvah, one of four. To send to one another food and drinks usually sweet.

Shalach manos is “send portion” in Yiddish. Food portion in this case, so people will have food for the Purim feast. And to see that all have drinks as we are ordered to “drink until we don’t know your right from right”.

This time we organized in advance and had a family costume – the lion 🦁 that loves strawberry 🍓! It is a famous kids’ book talking about (surprise! surpruse!) a lion that loves strawberry. He refuse to eat anything but it, until he eats too much of it and start to eat anything but strawberry. Jannaeus was the lion while all the rest (Atzva, Mindal and I) were strawberry 😁

Take care
Gad
