Hi,
We have almost broke the curfew that was imposed during the Un-Indenpendance day. From the evening at 17:00 till 20:00 the day after. Because we visit Atzva parents mainly on Jewish holidays, we are used we cannot leave the religious settlement they live in form dusk till dusk.
Before our Un-Indenpendance day there is Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of the Wars of Israel). We usually go to a ceremony at the evening, But because there was none we set down in a Zoom meeting with Atzva father who told about his friends he lost in Israel wars.
During memorial day itself I found myself passing a school yard. On ordinary times it would been full of children with white shirts and stickers of Red Everlasting flowers on it, waiting for 11:00 siren and the ceremony that follow it.
Because we could not go to any official or unofficial celebration at Un-Indenpendece day, we set in Atzva parents house and watched the official ceremony on TV. It takes place in Mount Herzl, where Herzl was buried. You can see the grave behind while the dancers and singers preform on stage in front of no one with 2 meter apart.
“So strange” I was thinking to myself when Nathan texted “Ceremony Party”.
It was only us who locked down and watching it 🙂 Everybody locked down and watching it! Quickly we aired Zoom meeting and kept laughing on the singers outfits.
Take care
Gad
