Coronavirus – Hamatsesa

Hi,
As our alcohol consumption raised during the Coronavirus period, we found ourselves a new apple cider made in Israel from the Hamatsesa brewery (the name is literally means brewery).

Because most of the Israeli agriculture that was destined for export did not leave the country, we were flooded with proposals to buy fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers: Dates, Pineapple, spices, etc.

We ordered most of it, for it was in reasonable prices and we always happy to buy local products. Unfortunately, most of it never shipped 😑

We ordered 24 bottles of dry apple cider, half dry apple cider and pear cider. It did not taste as the Somersby apple cider, but it was good 🙂

It is a small plant in Jerusalem mountains who uses the damaged summer fruits for other products.

It started when in 2013 the owners worked in Kibbutz Tzuba, and realized a lot of the fruits is thrown away is it no economical to send it to the markets, and decided to process those fruits.

Some the apples (and pear) are squeezed to juice and some used to make the apple and pear cider after two months of bubbling.

Take Care
Gad
