The irony in the commercial of The big brother that was printed on the hot air balloon on Yarkon Park could not pass by me.
In times where The big brother is a reality show that uses the Eye in the sky as her logo as the Big Brother that keeps track over all the participates of the show.
On those times that reality show do send up to the sky this hot air balloon with its logo as a clear commercial for the Big brother. What can you expect?
The Coronavirus pandemic and its second wave regulations now allows Israeli Shabak (Israel’s internal security service) to track every cellphone location without need for court approval.
We are now under the Big brother Eye in the sky. And just as the security checks in airports are a memory of September 11, this tracking will be the legacy of the Coronavirus.

And about the reality show – I do remember sitting in my friend wedding about 4 years ago with his 16 years old niece talking about fantasy and science fiction books. When we got to the Big Brother of 1984, he looked at me surprised and asked “you don’t really watch this show, do you?”. I did not watch it then, and not now, but I can clearly say they do watch me….
