Hi,
Either Bibi has decided to be the first to use Helicopter money ides in Israel or is in really bad state. As far as my understanding goes he isn’t a big supporter of this monetary policy – he is in really bad state.
The plan was launched just after the last protests in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. Both of the protests became violence. They have moved out of the regime comfort zone and ended with arrests. The one in Jerusalem, was in front of PM house. and ended with 19 arrests. Something not usual happens in those protests.
It is Bibi direct attempt to lower the fire as fast as can, just throw a bucket of cold water over the protest. “It is the fastest way”, he claimed as there will no bureaucracy and the money will get directly into the pockets of the citizens. I sure the government can see how needs it right now and who doesn’t.
I was afraid Bank of Israel will follow the federal bank, and start to buy Corporate bond and here comes Bibi, and just throw away money we don’t have. Better say throw away money that Atzva and I (and probably Jannaues and Mindal) will pay in the next years.
As Atzva and I decided to donate the money will give to an headstart campaign that will pass the money from the plan to people that need it: Owners of small business still closed, people that lost their job, and poor people who couldn’t close the month even before the Coronavirus pandemic.
The campaign aimed to 1 million NIS, and crossed it the same night, and it now reached 3 million (I feel invested in it and keep following it ).
And meanwhile the second wave of Coronavirus is getting higher, as more than 1,800 new cases are found in the last few days. The government declared on another curfew for this weekend: the shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment bussiness will be closed for the weekend. It will defiantly won’t help the economy and there are people calling to revolt against it and open the restaurants.
It is not yet decided how the education system will work, and we already arranging ourselves to have the kids back at home while we work.
I do wish for someone else to run the state, but I thought it will happen so many times before. I cross my fingers and hope for the best.
Take Care
Gad
