Hi,
The third lockdown… well it easier the first two. Because the guidelines are less strict for, and people are sick and tired and mostly ignore it. We celebrated Atzva and Mindal end of quarantine to have a ride on the new Yonatan trail that was built on the bank of the Yarkon River.
I used to run on that side of the river when it was most inaccessible – you have to jump on some trees and over the water to cross it. Now it is a beautiful trail, partly covered in wood deck and hanged over the river.
Along it is are explanations signs on the nature (Flora and Fauna) of the Yarkon river (the river, plants animals) and on the public buildings that lay along it (and till now closed the view to the river) – the scouts hut, the paratroopers house, the Beit Haloem and some artists locations.
The trail is called Yonatan on the name of Yonatan Gross, a lawyer died on the age of 47 from hard disease.
From construction point of view it is a normal deck, but what interesting here is the foundation. The soil is clay and deep foundations (piles are needed here). Because they wish to have minimal effect on the environment they used self-drilled piles – pretty rare around here. And only that, the piles are made of steel – also not common around here.
Those self-drilled steel piles require only small
heavy machinery to access the construction site. Moreover – no Bentonite was needed for those piles, what kept the site and the river quite clean from waste.

As I lost the pic from my cellphone, you can see how it look here
