Hi,
We decided to start using our vacation days from work and had a one day hike to the Upper Zavitan stream in Golan Heights.
We decided to walk on a restricted area, meaning us taking responsibility if something would happen to us and the risk of getting a fine. On the other hand we had a quiet trail empty from other hikers.
It was long since I had quality time with the co-workers from other branches. And as we were all grown up boys, we were drinking more beer 🍺 than water 🍶during the hike.
The Zavitan trail is one of the streams flowing from Golan Heights to the Kinneret. And is goes down some 600m and it has some beautiful waterfalls an deep creeks in the hard rock of the Golan.
The nature reserve is called Yehudia reserve after the other bigger stream in the area. Some 5 years ago some rock had collapsed in its creek and the trail has been closed since it. The only part still accessible is the waterfall. We decided to skip it this time.
Oh, and if all the beer we had during the hike was not enough – we had late launch at Golan Brewhouse with another pint of Beer 🍺
Take Care

The lower Zavitan stream is closed as the Black Canyon is ahead. Great place for rappelling, hope to have it soon.
