Hi,
We took Jannaeus this morning to a surgery to take off his adenoid.
We did not realize that it had to be done, and we have been looking for what made him feel so tired and not to sleep good.
Once agreed on, there was not a long line for the surgery, as we done it private medical facility (but paid little for the medical insurance we have from the HMO we are all belong to).
Removing the adenoid used to be a very common surgery when Aba was a kid in the 1960s’, and he . When I was a kid, it was less common and although I had reapeting cases of pharyngitis, couple of times a year. Fatma, my younger sister, had the surgery at the age of 20, during her military service as the surgery became more common.
I have not been with him during the process, only Atzva – the Coronavirus restrictions allows only one parent to be on his side. I guess it for the best, I probably would have need medical treatment just being there
After the surgery you are not allowed to eat hot or hard food. It is recommended to eat soft, cold and dairy food. If Ice cream 🍦 is the first thing that cross your mind, you are not wrong. He ate 3 at the moment he woke up and more during the day
It takes a week to heal from surgery. There should not be any issue except maybe a minor bleeding. So we will take shifts on Jannaeus he need to stay at home… and eat as much ice cream as he can
Take Care
