Nahalat Bynianin pedestrian mall is full of handicraft sellers in its art fair on Friday mornings. It is a very nice place to spend a sunny morning in. The street is near The Carmel market – they both meet in Magen David (Star of David) square.
Atzva and I spends most of our free Friday morning at the Carmel market (where we buy something good to eat and drink, and fresh vegetables and fruits) and then walk around the pedestrian mall among the beautiful and preserved buildings, and between the handicraft stands along the street.
The street is also the fabric store center of Tel Aviv. When Atzva and I were nesting for Jannaeus birth we spends here a long day choosing fabrics.We parked in a forbidden place by mistake and closed the entrance to the a residential parking. When we came back someone was waiting to get out. He was mad of course, but he cooled down once he saw Atzva belly 🙂
The street was built as the center of Nahalat Bynianin neighborhood that was built on 1912. The street was parallel to Hertzel street, the main street of Tel Aviv (then just a small settlement). A year later the neighborhood joined the fast growing city.
