I really thought a punching bag is a good thing for Jannaeus to release his anger. We let him hit the sofa at the moment, but a punchimg bag might him help him make it a good excerice.
It is heavy, so I had to take the children’s stroller to carry it two streets away.
It was easy to install, although we have ribbed slab as the ceiling of our apartment. We had to drill on several location to find the concrete rib to anchor the bag to.
So know we have a small gym: we have the dancing pole, the climbing wall and the punching bag.
When Aba found out about the punching bag he told me the story about how he and his friend tried to make one as teenagers. He was the Israeli champion for werstling as a teenager, and his friend was the Israeli Karate champion as a teenager and he lived across the street. They used to go down to the beach to look out for people to fight with, “we used get hit more than we managed to hit them”.
Someday the thought about taking the tarp that cover the garage and use it to make a punching bag. They fill it with sand and sew it with a strong sewing string. They hanged it in the middle of the friend living room, instead of straw coach that was hanged from the ceiling.
Aba hit it couple of times, and his friend as well. But when the friend gave it a real Karate kick…
It was no longer a punching bag, but a big pile of sand on the carpet in the middle of the living room. And just like in a movie, in the same moment the friend mother opened the door to find out what her teenage son and Aba had done.
This why the first question he asked me when he figured out this is why I need his drill for, was – does it has sand inside it? In a matter of fact – I did not check…

Used it to test the anchors – I got to 15 kg and they stood. As the bag weights about 20 kg – we have a safety factor of at least 1.5.
