Arabesque Hotel in Acre

Hi,
Our baby moon, this time, was very modest. We could not spend a lot as the economic situation got worse, and as we have two kids at home, we need to take care of it. We decided to spend a night at the
Arabesque Hotel in Acre.

The hotel is new (since 2016) and is located inside Acre old city. It sits in two Ottoman buildings, which are about 300 years old.

We took the Peacook room (which was classified as Deluxe Suite). You need to get in the rrom and look up to realize how high the vault is above your head and how wide the room is. It’s amazing how this simple structure holds for so long, based on nothing but the compression between the stones (no mortar or rebar).

The toilt and and shower room sits in a three arched niche, which is lower than the floor level (which makes you think – where does the sewage flow down to?). I assume they revealed the space during the renovation. It happens in most of the buildings of those kinds in old cities in Israel.

The breakfast was good and large and held through the long day we spent around Acre and the way home. It seems to be a thing here, as the dinner we ate the night before was big enough to feed at least 6 people…

Yesterday we visited Acre aqueduct near Kibbutz Lohamei HaGeta’ot.
