Just take a flag

15th week of protests – flags

Hi,
It is the 15th week of protests against judicial reform. The process had postponed for the current time, but as passover has passed and things are going back to normal, we need to prevent the reform to go on.

It was the first protest Jannaeus, my 6 years old kid, had joined in. He was very happy to ride the bike on the closed roads, to collect stickers against the reform, to yell out, to sit on my shoulders and watch the protest from above and to wave the Israeli flag.

I had not written about it before, but it can easily be seen from the pictures of the weekly protests before that one of those protest symbols is the Israeli flag.

I do not know if it was a reaction to Itamar Ben Gvir order to the police to remove the Palestinian flags from the protests or just a good decision.

One way or the other, the results are amazing. It is not just an item almost everybody has at home. It is also a symbol that all are attached to. As many call out and say the protest is about the country of Israel, what fits more than the flag of Israel as the symbol?

I did not cary a flag till now, no good reason apart from my having my hands free to write down those posts. I have a small flag on the back of my bikes. When Jannaeus joined in, he went over and picked one up from the many volunteers that distributed them. And now we also have a flag for the protests (apart from the one hanged from the balcony).

The sticker on the flag stick ask to bring it to any protest and to donate to the fight. The stick is made of bamboo, as it the cheapest and most durable way to hold it.
