Sunrise at the desert, while the booms are in the background

War

Hi,
I woke up on the Kfar HaNokdim camping site, and on the way to wash my face with Jannaeus, I stopped to take a picture of sunrise with explosions on the background. It was quite unusual to have the IDF practice on Sabbath, and he really was not. It was war

It took us a while to figure out it isn’t just another day of fight around Gaza strip, as happens once in a while, as information starts to gather up, it seems there was also kind of invasion to some of Gaza strip surrounding settlements.

We dropped the idea of going down to Masada, as we planned to to do at first, and tried to figure out what is the best way to get home to Ramat Gan (or to our parents in Har Adar, as we no Protected area in our house).

We decided to get home quickly as we could (and to run to the protected area across the street). As I was the driver, all I could do was get fragments of news from Atzva. Including “I can’t say it, not even in English”, “Hamas have conquered the settlements on Gaza surroundings” or “they are shooting people in a music festival

We got home and quietly arranged the baggage from the weekend (even the kids were overwhelmed by the way back), made some laundry, and washed the dishes. Until I got my Tzav 8 (emergency call out for military reserve duty) Operation Iron Swords  We then packed to keep driving: to drop Atzva and the kids to Har Adar and keep driving to the north.

Take Care
Gad
