Hi,
We are on the 19th day of war. This means we already have 19 days in a row on the field: sleeping, eating, showering (when possible), training, etc. It does feel, however, like a scouts summer camp at moments.
Well, that is not when we train, walk, practice, or run to the Nagmash (APC) during Purple rain attacks.
Just like the Scouts summer camp, we have chemical toilets to go to and cold showers at night.
We had some rain, and we found ourselves starting cutting down branches and tying up ropes to hold up the canvas above our heads.
This Tzav 8 is not the longest time I was on the field. The summer camps were shorter than, but the Israel national trail I was hiking was longer.
That will probably end up soon. As you know, it is not summertime, and winter is coming. And we will soon need to move away to a close place, might be a safer place. But it might be a more dangerous place, which is more close to the border and to Lebanon or Syria.

The showers we had. They were supposed to have hot water, but somehow, it was never when I took a shower (just like the scouts summer camp)

The announcement is inside the chemical toilet by the Scouts youth movement, which just made me feel more like it is a summer camp.
The Honey-sucker (I am still amazed by how accurate the name is) that cleans up the chemical toilets.
