Our company was investigated today by the military police, for a missing weapon. I think it is the first time I have been truly investigated by a police as a suspect on a crime I might have taken part in (not only in the military service).
It’s pretty sad we got to this point where we have to wait for investigations instead of training for the war that might happen in the North. And that the military police has to investigate us, instead of close the roads the north border of Israel as they mostly do in this war (to prevent army and citizens get too close to the border and got hit)
It is not the first time our company has been investigated by military police. It was because of a weapon stolen from a soldier during the training in Hamam El-Maliach base on 2020. I had left the duty a day before to help Atzva and the new baby Mindal.
The story could have been funny if it had not been sad. The night before the commander of the brigade woke everybody up in the middle of the night as part of a drill in which a weapon was stolen from us. After we verified, no weapon had been stolen, he warned us about the fact we are in the west bank and weapons got stolen there.
The night after, we got woken again for the same reason – a weapon have stolen. At first, we thought it was not that efficient to make the same drill twice night after night. But then we understood it was not a drill, but a weapon had been stolen, and we were all suspects.
Now we are questioning again. My brother in law is in military police. Although he as nurse on hospital, he too have been called up on Tzav 8. I do wonder how funny it will be, if he will be the one to investigate us.
There is another military police I am familiar with – Jack Reacher. Rhe same brother in law introduce me to him. Although I have never met him I do know all about him, as everybody else who have read the series of books of Lee Child.
