As you know, I am not so active on the social networks world. I do have profiles on Facebook and LinkedIn, but I barely touch them.
That what saved me from the horror pics, videos, and news that flooded Israel on the Black Sabbath. Even the Whatsapp groups I am in were extremely quiet during October 7th morning, asking not to share any information about what is happening in Gaza surroundings.
On the way north from our camping in Kfar HaNokdim, Atzva was sitting with her mobile phone all the way, watching media shared by Hamas terrorists on the social networks.
It was clear to all that Hamas has used the power of the virallaty of media (especially bad news) in those networks to cause moral damage to Israel.
But a new show on Kan, by Guy Rolnik, shows how this complex and designed the use was. Apperantly, the campaign against Israel was one of the biggest in the world, if not the biggest of them all. Bigger than the Russian campaign of USA elections in 2016, in which it used the social networks to effect the results of the elections.
It seems that for months
before Hamas deadly attacked, there were signs for the campaign. Profiles of Hamas terrorists on Facebook can be used to broadcast the horror of the attack. Telegram channels to spread the pics. Tiktok users, so all can see what is done.
If we were not aware enough of the damage those networks could cause, the Black Sabbath have shown it clearly.

A pic of all that was written on October 7th in one of the more active Whatsapp groups I am part of. The massage with the red flag is from the manager, asking not to share anything from what happens in the south. The second massage is saying that a main part of the war is psychological war, and don’t help to spread rumors*.
