Staff sergeant Omer Sarah Benjo z"l - hit in Safed

Hit in Safed – 131st day of war

Hi,
After the direct hit in Qiryat Shmona yesterday, which caused the injury of two citizens, today Hezbollah aimed and hit in Safed (a city in north of Israel)

The city is in a distance of about 40km from the Lebanon border with Israel, and during 2nd Lebanon war, it had been bombed daily. Back then, it had been almost completely abandoned (it was not an evacuation, like we have in the northern border settlements in this war).

The city holds the Northern command base, and the 11 Grad 122mm rockets launched from Lebanon today were aimed at this base. And they also hit it, killing one soldier (Staff sergeant Omer Sarah Benjo z”l , 20 years old from Gaya) and injuring 8 more (one of them injured severely).

The hit yesterday on the woman and her son (civilians) on Qiryat Shmona yesterday and the direct hit in Tzfat today shows we are over Hezbollah bookkeeping he held in the beginning of the war.

I can keep writing down that we are on the edge of war or on a slippery slope to it, but seems nothing will be a valid cause (casus belli) for Israel to open in a war against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Maybe only 1,400 soldiers and citizens slaughtered the way happened on the Black Sabbath (October 7th) can be considered reasonable enough to open war against Lebanon. But meanwhile, the settlements along the border are empty, and many of their residents call out for action to prevent what happened in Gaza strip surrounding settlements.

IAF aircraft attacked targets in Lebanon, not only the location the rockets were launched from, and IDF artillery bombed location nearer to the border, but the reaction is still in the Not War zone between Hezbollah and Israel.

Take Care
Gad
