Hi,
This women’s day is celebrated in Israel under the dark shadow of Hamas terror attack of October 7th.
On one stands the hostages, both man and women that were kidnapped by Hamas and held in captavity for 154 days. Above those stands the women hostages and the testemonies and stories of the sexual violence they had suffered during the nassacre and later as hostages.
Part of it of being women (the way UN agencies ignore those attacks is still remembered, as the cideo below shows).
On the other side, this event put to test one of the biggest experiments of women fighters in the IDF.
The discussions over women can ever fight good as man in the battlefield, now have a clear answer as those female fighters (infantry or in armored corps) fought the same, if not better, than the male fighter.
One story, is the story of fight Zikim’s military training base, shows how the women fighters, both soldiers and commanders, defended the base and prevented Hamas terrorists from penetrating it and slaughtering the basic training soldiers in it.
As it is Friday, and I was sent home for an after, Atzva and I spent the children free morning in the women’s small business fair in Sarona market. Where entrepreneur and business women presented and sold their products.
Take Care
