After the attack on Iran embassy on Damascus and the high alert situation we are living in, of Iranian revenge, I remembered that we used to be in peace with this country. The country that uses its proxies (in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen) to attack us, was a place you go to work in.
My Saba (grandfather) from my mother side, was a Mack truck mechanic who worked for Solel Boneh (a construction and civil engineering company). In some point, he was sent out to Iran, along with other Israeli company workers to help the country and developed it (apparently the company built Hilton hotel in Tehran) We still have the document he got when he was sent there.
Iran objected the independence of Israel at first, but commerce relationship started to form and a formal representative of the Iranian government was placed in Israel. After the Six Day war the Trans-Israel pipeline, used to deliver Iranian oil to Europe. Israelis visited Iran, but I do not know if it worked the other way around.
The relationship between the countries was cut on the Iranian Revolution (February 11th, 1979), when a new religious rule took control of the country. Since then Iran place Israel (the Little Satan) alongside the USA (the Great Satan), and invest many efforts on developing nuclear weapon to hit Israel, or to supports proxies who help to damage Israel (Hezbollah and the Houthis for example).
This is part of Iran wish to set a new Persian Empire over the Region. The Persian culture had many empires ruling over the area. From the Elamite Empire, the Achaemenid Empire (which ruling the area of Israel during its time).
