Hi,
I was sent to take a check if I fit to be an officer during my mandatory military service. Those checks are called Mavdakim (an acrynom for the pharse above in Hebrew).
I took them during my commander course (which basically allows you to be a commander of a squad, this is why it usually could squad commanders course). The result was I do not fit to be an officer, I only knew about it very late in the course.
Let me reprahse myself – my result was the lowest you can get (it now called 0-A, then it was called 3 if I remember correctly) which means I cannot go out to be an officer even if the Cheif of staff himself will allow me to.
Well, now I guess I am kind of an officer as our squadron commander had moved to a different position. That not usually done. Usually another officer join in, they some time together and then they left.
But now it is not a usual time as you understand: we already spent more than 100 days in reserve since October 7th, and we might send to Gaza strip or up to the North.
I was in this positioned before: leading the squadron during trainings, and also now on the line on the north. But it was only for a short term, there was always an officer responsible, I was just doing its work. But now it seems all to be on me.
To get ready, I took a quick course on being an officer. Well not really a course, just reading a book. It was not a book on being an officer, just a book been given in the end of the officer school: I am a coward I am.
