Throwing garbage out of the window – 203day of war

Hi,
Going around the west bank Arab villages, my friends used to see how they were throwing the garbage off the windows.

It was when they were on mandatory military duty and got in to depress violent riots or to catch terrorists.

So they were not throwing their home garbage from the windows. They used it as a weapon against us and used to throw everything they could put their hands on: concrete blocks, washing machine, doors, coarpse of a camel and so on.

The place we are staying in during this military reserve duty service, has no garbage trucks service and we just throwing all the garbage from the window to the improvised landfill down below the building parts.

In the beginning it feels weird, after all it is not something you do everyday – just open the window and throwing stuff from the window. It then became a game and you are enjoying it, looking for stuff to throw off from windows: empty plastic water bottles, unfinished food, boxes, coarpse of a camel (just kidding, we did not find one).

Those are people that used to be in the west bank that really enjoyed it – maybe this is kind of payback time for them.

But living inside a landfill is not so fun In some point, and this not a way to live – throwing it all from the window just created a sentry problem for us all. After some complains – the IDF got the idea and we now have a place to throw our garbage to – but it kind of hard to get rid of the easiest way to disposal our garbage – just throwing it from the window…

Take Care
