One third of the deaths of IDF soldiers comes from firing of our forces on our forces. Apparently we are good at killing ourselves, in numbers getting close to what Hamas is doing.
If you would asked me if I fear being inside the strip, I would say I fear I will got shot by our forces. That some tank will accidentally aim its gun at us, identifying us as terrorists. Or some artillery will miss by couple of hundred meters and flatten the building we sitting in defense in.
Yesterday five soldiers were killed when a tank identified them in a near house and fired on them in northern Gaza. Three more soldiers were severely wounded. That is after the soldiers had communicated the tank they are there, and the tank commander allowed to fire outside of the sector border.
Couple of days ago we almost had one of those events when a Golani brigade soldier opened a house to clean it from Hamas terrorists. They had almost hit our medic, when the shootings hit 30m away from him.
Two weeks ago two soldiers from our brigade were killed when a tank had fired outside of the sector border that was set for him (yes, this seems to happen a lot as you see). An explosive was detonated underneath another tank rails and made the all brigade firing in all directions.
