Cease-fire – 418th day of war

Hi,
The cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon is now in place after 14 months of war. The last hours before it took place were quiet on the Israeli side. And unlike the cease-fire with Hamas in the last war or fighting rounds, the hours after it were also quiet.

But the days before it, Israel was under nonstop bombing and UAV attacks by Hezbollah – all along the Lebanon border and all the way south to Haifa.

The IDF, on the other hand, tried to use as much success as it could until the last moment: To take down as many terror targets, catch and blow up or destroy as much ammunition and weapons as it could.

It included a 120-second attack of 20 terror targets by 8 aircraft in the Dahieh. IDF soldiers went north as far as the Litani River (on the point it is closest to the border with Israel near Metula), and no surprise, they found more ammunition and weapons left there by Hezbollah terrorists.

IDF forces are still inside Lebanon, while hundreds of thousands of Lebanonis refugees are going back to their demolished and ruined houses. The forces will slowly withdraw during the 60 days of the agreement back to the border.

And those refugees include Hezbollah terrorists. This time might be the worst time to be an IDF soldier in South Lebanon, and I sure happy not to be one right now.

When we were there, it was clear each one who was not a soldier was a terrorist and we shot to kill. Now you can be there when people can get closer, and a terrorist can hide between them and take you down.
