Missile hit a school – 420th day of war

Hi,
Unlike the first Houthi ballistic missile this week which was intercepted, this ballistic missile (of parts of the intercepting missile launched towards it) had hit a school in Ramat Gan.

We ran to our safe room about 3:00 AM in the morning (the first time we ran to the shelter was at noon, while we were at work). That was the time the school got hit.

It means the place was completely empty, and that something I can only say was a big luck. I do not want to think what would have happened if the hit would happened when the school was fully populated.

The building did have a shelter, and in case of alarm the kids should have get down to it. That what they are practicing (and do for real) in the past year. The shelter was not damaged, not was the access to it. But I am not completely sure no one would have hurt – that is why, again, it is great luck.

The school will be demolished and a new building will be built instead. I am not sure all the school building should be demolished, but they will be demolished. Sometimes it cost more to renovate the damaged building than just build new once. In other cases, it just an opportunity to build a better bigger building.
