2nd hostage deal – 471st day of war

Hi,
Finally, the 2nd hostage deal took place, and we got back home 3 girls: Emily Damari, Doron Steinbrecher, and Romi Gonan.

The deal includes the return of a total of 33 hostages during a 6 week (42 days) period, and Israel will release around a thousand Hamas terrorists prisoners. The hostages (and the following prisoners) will be released about 3 at the time, in a week intervals. During those 42 days, the IDF will cease its fire and retreat from Gaza strip, while more humanitarian aid will be allowed to get in the strip.

Emily Damari, 28 years old, is an Israeli – British who was kidnapped from her home in Kfar Aza on the Black Sabbath of October 7th.

Doron Steinbrecher, 31 years old, was kidnapped also from Kfar Aza (she was Emily Damari neighbor). She was considered missing for 107 days until Hamas terrorists released a video of her. She has a chronic disease, and as she did not receive her medicines, there was a fear for her life.

Romi Gonen, 24 years old, was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7th, where many other were killed in Hamas massacre. Her three friends, who were with her in the car in the festival, were killed in the attack.

This is the 2nd hostage deal in this war. The first one was more than a year ago (24 to 30 of November 2023, about 2 months after the Black massacre of October 7th). Back then, during a week, day after day, about 8 to 24 hostages (105 hostages total).

There were, allegedly, many reasons why it took so long for the second hostage deal to be signed both by Hamas and Israel. I suspect it is about politics: the government that might fall and about Bibi trails (and how it tries to avoid them). All the rest: the claim the war will help to release the hostages are just not correct.

Take Care
Gad
