Near Peduel, Israel
“I don’t get it, you were taking me to walk between and on stones to see more stones!?”
“Well…. Yeah =)” I answered to my girlfriend Atzva.
The stones we went to see are the ruins of Zeredah, a city from the time of the bible (1 Kings 11:26 – Then Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king).
I guess she could stand the walk if we wouldn’t have walk for half an hour with no direction and had to jump over a stream of sewerage… =)
We walk down to the valley and then climbed to Zeredah, Sitting here and there near a cistern. Altough it seems the hike getting worse and worse, if you would ask Atzva, we finally got to the Zeredah!
I would have explain a lot, but there isn’t much to say except, again it is recognized by archeologists as the biblical Zeredah. But look at the view =)…

Gad
Panoramic view from Peduel. people call it the “Balcony of the country”.
The right hill on the ridge is the citadel of Zeredah. The only way to get there without climbing is walking on the ridge. A good place to build a city that it will be easy to defend on.
A cistern, pretty full, looking north to Peduel
A nice pit in the hard dolomite rock.
Behold! the view from the citadel of Zeredah. South to Shilo valley (“the horseshoe”), East to Tel aviv, North to Peduel and east to Ramaallah
Looking east you can see the cliffs of Shilo stream
Down below is the horseshoe
To right is the Beit Aryeh settlement, and below is the ruins of Zeredah.
Stones left of the walls of the citadel
The cliffs of the cave, which cave? you will see =)
Try to find it… =P
That cave! going from one side of the hill to the other! =D
