Costo, Walmart and Target

Hi,
I don’t know how you guys can stand those supermarket chains: Costco, Walmart and Target, and I am sure there are more of the kind.

It is not about how big those places are. There some huge supermarkets in Israel. Not big as those ones here, but still big enough to let you feel the same way – that you can find anything in it.

It is also about how big the packages are. We prefer the big packages because they have better value for money. But they are also produce less waste. We really like the baked apple chips, but in Israel you can only find it in small packages. While you can find it in oversize family bag 🙂

Our small comfort is that the home product of Costco, Kirkland, is sometimes imported by Osher Ad. It is super religious supermarket with a branch near us. We buy there because it the nearest thing we have to those big supermarkets.

It is also about how those places really sweep you in, buying things you don’t need only because they are so cheap “it is a waste not to buy them”. And comparing the cost of things here to Israel only makes it even worse.

I really try not to buy things I will not use, even if they are unreasonably cheap. I had a wishist before we flew over here. But I also found myself too quickly buying things has it been so easy to buy it.

They say it is easy to fall in to buying too much on-line, but for me at least is seems that once I hold the product in my hand it is mord real for me and pushes me easily to buy. While on line I imagine how it will be, here I feel it in my hand and it is harder to resist.

Take Care
Gad
