Merced River 💧

Hi,
In our last visit to Yosemite National park, we skipped the Merced River that flows down the down the Yosemite Valley and drove in. But the huge Granite cliffs took all our attention.

Now with the kids, we defiantly needed some cooling down and relax time. I am not sure if by writing it I refer to time for Atzva and I relax or for the kids to cool down from the ride and walk 🤣 But it can be both…

It is also warmer than when we had our last visit here (back then it was September). So it is not so cold to get in and swim a bit in the river.

Last thing is that we had plentty of time just sitting in the car and watching the Merced river. The reason for that is that the way to the National Park was so long for the work don along the road.

There were two kinds of works on the way to the entrance: First there was a rock slide that closed the road and the traffic had to detour to the other bank of the river on top of nice steel bridges. But we earned the look on how the slope is being stabilized.

The second work was of rebuilding the electricity lines along the road. The work was done with helicopters for the hard terrain, it was scary to watch the workers hanging from the cables.

And other than that there were also construction works in the national park. We had one day we thought the works are done and still got stuck in traffic. This is was because of a timber that fell on the road 🌲 Those things happens in a forest 🙂
