Suicide – 106th day of war

Hi,
Life (Weddings, work, birth, Suicide, and so on) continues during the war on Gaza strip with Hamas, the almost war along Lebanon border withhttps://www.mad-in-israel.com/2024/03/01/israel-lebanon-border-147th-day-of-war/ Hezbollah and the Houthis attacks on the Red sea (that now mainly aims on ships, and not Eilat).

Weddings are taking place, like the one we have been to on Thursday. As we exited the event, Aba told us about my cousin sister in law that took her life and committed suicide. While we were dancing, eating, drinking, and having fun, they dug a hole in the ground and slowly lowered her body down to the grave.

She had three kids and one grandchild, which most lived next to her. They said she was depressed, something that happened in the last 3 weeks. But it might have been the war, even if it happened now. Her husband and two of her children were drafted for reserve duty for a very long time, leaving her with a pretty empty house. Maybe now that might have been released, she found the time right to do so.

If you ask yourself where she got the weapon from, her husband was an army man. As most army man, he has a weapon. Even army man, who did not have a weapon till the Black Sabbath, now easily gets a weapon.

This is part of Ben Gvir campaign of giving away weapons to Israeli citizens to defend themselves. But as the reality shows, look on your country, shows – people use weapons to commit suicide, have shooting accidents, commit crimes, and so on. Not necessarily to defend themselves against terror attacks.

As I wrote to you before, having a weapon (or any other element that can be used to commit suicide) in the house really makes the changes to have someone commit suicide higher (this why to stop let fighter soldiers to go out with their weapon, well at least till October 7th…)

Take Care
Gad
