The stop on the way to the north

Refreshment stops -146th day of war

Hi,
I have been driving the way from Ramat Gan to the north of Israel so many times during the past half a year, it feels like driving to work. One things that helps during this 3 hour driving are the Refreshment stops volunteers run, mainly the one in Yokneam , but also others.

The one in Yokneam is set on both sides of the road to the north, next to the bus stops,  and all you have to do is park in the bus stop for couple of minutes and grab something to eat, drink or read (it not legal to stop on those locations, but not policeman will write you a report once you see you are a Miloimnik, a reserve duty soldier).

At first I stopped to stretch a bit (I have back pains and the chiropractor asked to stretch every half an hour of sitting), but once I stop a volunteer comes with a glass of juice, a dish of home made food or just a bottle of water – and you cannot refuse

Apart from those, there are also refreshments stop opened by the ministry of transportation (one on the Arbel lookout and one in Bikat Netufa Valley), one near Ami’ad junction and probably many more I do not even know of

Take Care
