The sirens of the Ballistic Missile from Lebanon had woke us all up on 6:30 in the morning. It is very considerable from Hezbollah to wake Tel-Aviv people in 6:30, the time I think people set their alarm clock to.
Sure, It is not fun to wake up by sirens and run to the protected area, but is better than do it in 4:00 in the morning or 1:00 at night and then try to get kids back to sleep again.
It was a middle range surface to surface Qader-1 missile, which was intercepted over Hertzlia, north of Tel-Aviv. Hezbollah claimed he was aiming at the Mossad, Israel intelligence, building, and not at the citizens of Tel-Aviv.
This is the first missile to be fired from Lebanon towards the center after Hezbollah had extended its firing range south to Haifa and even south to Samria. In 2nd Lebanon war, the rockets were fired on Haifa and not souther than that.
Altougth, there was one case, that a missile was allegedly fired at Tel-Aviv or Orot Rabin Hadera power plant, and was intercepted over Hadera. Some say it might be a conspiracy, and other claims it was hidden by the government not to freighthen the people.
Hezbollah was firing at Tel-Avivas it is a symbol. It was a single missile the terror organization knew would probably be interpicated by air defense. It was a say “be afraid, we can hit your main city”.
It was Hezbollah trying to keep the bookkeeping. But it seems we lost track of it. There were so many hits Hezbollah got in past weeks: Fuad Shukr killing, the pager attack Ibrahim Aqil killing, and endless airstrikes in Beirut and around Lebanon.
At least this time, we were running to the protected area inside the new house we moved in to about two months ago. Mindal and Dub were already sleeping there. We only had to take Jannaeus on our way there. He did not even wake up, so we let him stay there for the rest of the night 🙂 (06.08.2024)
