Hi,
The 2nd hostages deal agreement will hopefully be approved by the government on Motza’ei Shabbat. According to Palestinians’ representatives, the 2nd agreement was signed today at 3:00 AM in the morning.
33 hostages will come back home during 4 days. The rate of exchange is 30 Hamas terrorists to be released for every civilian hostage and 50 Hamas terrorists for every soldier who was kidnapped and will be released.
But Hamas will not only gets over of his thousand of his terrorists released in this deal. It will get 6 weeks of cease fire, 600 humanitarian trucks will get into Gaza strip, and gradual retreat of IDF from Gzaa strip.
But Hamas did not got all that it asked: The war will not completely ended (although it seem Trump will not let it restart), IDF will not retreat from all Gaza strip.
Some say it was worth waiting to this deal since May 2023, because will get better conditions. Other, and me among them, think the only reason our government did not sign on the agreement was because it might sign on its own end.
Itamar Ben-Gvir already declared it will the government if the 2nd hostage deal agreement will be approved, and will come back it war will start again. Other politicians said they will support the government from the opposition, so the agreement will pass. But it clear that might collapse the government in the long run.
I think that what really changed was Trump to be elected. The agreement is the same one we could sign on half a year ago. Baiden was too nice, and Bibi, was also waiting for Trump to get to office. Bibi also was keeping his government by avoiding the deal, and as he keeps his government he can better deal with his trail.
Take Care
Gad
P.S. Guri, my younger brother, is back in military reserve in Gaza strip. I do hope will be there during the cease fire as the agreement will sign. On the other hand, he is a troll, and might ignite the fire with his “jokes”…
