Lying on the grass in front of the airport after our flight has been delayed for an hour.
We have been playing Gin Rummy, drinking beer and and eating Momo – spicy vegetarian filled dumplings and fried onion covered with crumbs. After 10 days with those people, I already feel like an American tourist. We all study in Israel but somehow the main language here between us is English.
To get on time to the airport we wake up in 5 AM, and walked for 2 hours from Namsaling back to Ilam. That is the 6th time we are doing it in the past 10 days: Going down to the valley, crossing the river and climbing back again.
Then we had a 4 hours drive in a jeep with a little stop to buy some food: Sambok and some sweets. After so much time only with rice we just wanted something different. (I was responsible for the sweets. I just couldn’t help myself after so much time in the village with almost no sugar).
Yesterday we were supposed to build another bio-gas reactor dome but we decided not to. The manager of the company liked the idea of building that way, but we made a little change in size of the dome. I think he didn’t want to be responsible for building reactors a little bit different (we increased the volume by 7%, and we could have the frame with no change in the volume, but with a little, change in the design). It was much easier to the people of village, but we prefer to keep a good relationship with the manager from BSP. He allow us to built another one that way, but wasn’t happy about it. It was a bit ugly…
What we are about to do is built another dome with accurate dimensions. That time we will design it so it will be in the same dimensions they build, and from cheaper materials so they will be able to reproduce it.
Well, someone told us they have canceled the flight for today. That means We will have to stay here for another 24 hours.
