Haifa, Israel
The Haifa bubble burst… =/
Pretty funny we have a bubble in Haifa. Usually the talk is about the Tel Aviv bubble – the state of mind and way of life people in Tel Aviv lives in, when everything around them in Israel is on fire. While citizens in southern Israel have 15 seconds to run to a shelters not to get hit by bombs, people in Tel Aviv sits in coffeehouse and talks about the new movies.
Yesterday I felt that way, sitting down with friends from work and drinking beer, while the south is being bombed (from Haifa, Tel Aviv is south. This is the 4th day of Operation Protective Edge and Tel Aviv is being bombed for 4 days already).
Pretty hard to know when will a bubble burst, for me it is always surprising… surprising like waking up in 3:30 in the morning from an alarm and running in pajamas to the shelter.
It is no longer there in the south, and you not only read status in Facebook, talk with friends that have been drafted and hear news and live in your bubble.
Take Care
