Hi,
I took Fatma (my little sister) and new coming cousin from America and we went down to an hike to Rujum a-Naka and Arugot stream in the Judaean Desert that was arranged by Amitim Latiyulim (friends for hikes). It was an hike in the memory of one of Israel biggest soldiers – Meir Har-Zion.
We drove to a deserted Jordanian police station that was built for keeping the border with Israel named Rujum a-Naka. It was also there to keep an eye on the Bedouin tribes around. The police station had stables for the the mostly efficient transpiration mean around – camels =)
Next to it is the Rujum A-Naka that gave the police its name, a pile of stones belong to the Israelite era.

Going down upper Arugot stream

It wasn’t clear where they were heading – down the stream or maybe to Masada. It wasn’t clear what happened to them, but their abused bodies were found in this place and then returned to Israel through Mandelbaum gate in 18.02.1955. It was the start of Har Zion Affair – and the revenge of her brother: murdering 5 Bedouin of the tribes around.
This is a new memorial from 2012 after the old one (made of stone) was shuttered probably by Beduin from around.
