I learned an interesting thing yesterday – that Maria could have been a virgin. Yes – Jesus mother, and no I ain’t becoming christian.
It seems that some girls has a very flexible hymen. So flexible that even when they fuck they it doesn’t torn. No blood on first sex, kind of an advantage :-). So technically, if Maria was one of those girls, she was a virgin…. Well at least until she gave birth to Jesus… 🙂
And as Monti Python used to say: now to something completely different. If we are going to pass that Friday without a really mess, I think that the all mess around the Palestinian state will die away.
When I was in south America, waiting to see the Fitz Roy mountain, and before staying awake all night to read the book “The shadow of the wind” (because the person that it was belong to, was about to go away and didn’t want to change it with me), I had a short discussion with a Basques people.
I was sitting with a some of Israelis in the kitchen of the hostel in the town near the mountain. A couple of Basques entered and took a sit with us. The girl had a T-shirt with a narrow strip of picture showing eyes with kaffiyah around it and the words “The earth, and the peace” written in Arabic.
It was clear to the Israelis that were there which side she is supporting in The Palestinian agenda- and a short pretty loud argument took place until the Israelis went out in anger. I kept talking with them. One thing I remember from then, it was that she didn’t hate me as most European that take the other side. She came and try to light the solution of the conflict from a different side: “America is on the slope, and so is Europe. The east is on the rise – and it really don’t care what will happen to Israel and the Palestinians”.
It was 2006. I can say two things: First it seems that we can still trust the west for a while on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Second we need to see how we merge into the Middle East or we will despair.

A T-shirt of the kind the Basque girl wear. Now you understand why we looked on it in the first place 😉
